Helping mission-driven organizations turn ideas into action.

Jen Malloy Consulting LLC provides strategic and hands-on support to nonprofits, community-based organizations, NGOs, foundations, public agencies, and other mission-driven organizations.

I work alongside organizations to strengthen programs and systems, understand and engage communities, develop resources, build partnerships, facilitate collaborative processes, train staff and volunteers, and move important projects forward.

When Additional Capacity Can Make a Difference

Organizations don't always need another permanent staff position. Sometimes they need experienced support to tackle an important project, pursue an opportunity, better understand community needs, solve a problem, or simply move work forward when existing staff are stretched.

I provide flexible consulting support that combines strategic thinking with practical implementation. Depending on the need, that might mean helping assess community or organizational needs, develop a strategy, design a program, pursue a funding opportunity, engage community members and stakeholders, facilitate a planning process, develop and deliver training, or step in to coordinate a complex project.

The goal is not simply to recommend what should happen, but to help make it happen.

How I can help

Facilitation, Community Engagement & Collaboration

Design and facilitate processes that engage community members, staff, partners, and other stakeholders, identify needs and perspectives, and translate input and discussion into decisions and action.

Services may include community and stakeholder engagement, needs assessments, listening sessions, focus groups, strategic planning sessions, staff retreats, program design workshops, partnership discussions, collaborative planning, and documentation of findings and next steps.

Resource & Proposal Development

Identify and assess funding opportunities, develop strong proposals, build funding strategies, and strengthen readiness to manage philanthropic and government grants.

Strategy & Organizational Strengthening

Clarify priorities, assess needs, strengthen programs and systems, and translate strategic goals into practical plans.

Project & Initiative Support

Provide experienced, flexible capacity to launch new initiatives, coordinate complex projects, manage time-sensitive work, and keep people and deliverables moving.

Training & Capacity Building

Design and deliver practical training for staff, volunteers, and community partners, with particular experience in adult learning, volunteer preparation, and cross-cultural communication.

A Practical, Collaborative Approach

My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in the realities organizations and communities face. I bring structure to complex work by helping identify what needs to happen, who needs to be involved, what information and perspectives are needed, and how to move from listening and discussion to decisions and implementation.

I believe effective programs and strategies are stronger when they are informed by the people they are intended to serve. Depending on the engagement, that may mean creating opportunities for community members, staff, partners, and other stakeholders to share their experiences and priorities through needs assessments, listening sessions, focus groups, facilitated discussions, or other engagement approaches.

My role is not to arrive with a predetermined answer. It is to work alongside clients and stakeholders to understand the challenge, gather and make sense of relevant information and perspectives, create a workable path forward, and provide the support needed to put that plan into practice.

Experience Across Sectors

My work has spanned nonprofit leadership, refugee and immigrant services, public-sector and community-focused programs, philanthropy and resource development, international development, community and stakeholder engagement, partnership building, facilitation, training, writing, and project management.

That breadth is particularly useful when a project involves multiple stakeholders, diverse communities and perspectives, competing priorities, incomplete information, limited staff capacity, or a firm deadline.

I work with nonprofits and community-based organizations, refugee and immigrant-serving organizations, international NGOs, foundations and philanthropic organizations, coalitions and networks, and public agencies.
